Hey Kids, The Circus Is In Town And They Brought FUDGE!

Check out what our friends at Beyond Frosting had to say about this recipe:

“You are a genius. Pure genius I tell you. Frosted animal cookies were my favorite childhood snack when I was a kid… actually they are the only reason I grew as a child. And now fudge is my favorite treat (so much so I have gotten the process down to 5-minutes. … I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am to try this awesome recipe.”

I find this to be a very fun gift to give to people during the holidays. Sure, the fudge doesn’t look Christmasy, but whatever, everyone has always been very happy to receive it. 🙂

Ingredients

2 C Mother’s Circus crackers

For the strawberry fudge

1 pk (11oz) Hershey’s White chocolate chips

1 tbsp Land O Lakes butter

⅔ C Eagle Brand Sweetened condensed milk

1 C Kraft Marshmallow cream

1 pk Jell-O Instant Strawberries and Cream pudding mix

For the white chocolate fudge

1 pk (11oz) Hershey’s White chocolate chips

½ tbsp Land O Lakes butter

⅓ C Eagle Brand Sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×9 glass pan with Crisco and/or line with parchment paper (I do both- it makes it easier to remove the fudge once it is set). Set pan aside.
  2. Use a Ziploc bag and rolling pin or wooden spoon to crush circus animal crackers into smaller pieces. Set aside
  3. To prepare the strawberry fudge, combine white chocolate chips, butter and sweetened condensed milk in a pot. Heat on medium low heat and stir until completely mixed. White chocolate can burn easily, so watch carefully.
  4. Once fully melted, add marshmallow cream and instant strawberry fudge and whisk until smooth. Pour ⅔ of mix into bottom of glass pan. Set remaining ⅓ aside.
  5. Press ⅔ of the circus animal crackers into the strawberry fudge base.
  6. Prepare the white chocolate fudge by combining the white chocolate chips, butter and sweetened condensed milk in a pot. Heat on medium lo heat and stir until completely mixed. White chocolate can burn easily, so watch carefully. Pour mixture over top of strawberry fudge. Poor remaining ⅓ of strawberry fudge on top and swirl with a knife.
  7. Press remaining circus animal crackers into the top of the fudge and add additional sprinkles.
  8. Allow fudge to set in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before cutting to allow chocolate to soften slightly. I suggest removing fudge from pan before cutting.

Quick Tip – Use a warm knife to cut through the fudge in order to have the cleanest looking slice.
