When I was a child, I loved eating Twinkies. My mom would always keep a box or two in the cupboard for my siblings and I to enjoy. Often times, she would include one of these spongey little treats in our school lunch boxes. It was always a delightful surprise to open up your Barbie Lunch Box at school and find one of these golden bars of happiness staring back up at you. Yummo! Those were the days.
Now, I can’t say that I consistently buy my kids Twinkies for snack time as I’m a bit of a health nut, however, I do indulge their sweet tooth cravings with this fabulous Twinkie-inspired cake from time to time. This dessert is so good! It relly brings back the memories of my childhood. I love making Twinkie cake for church potlucks, picnics, and even birthday parties and I know you will too.
