As a kid, I loved eating Snickers bars. This candy bar was hands down, my favorite treat. My dad would take me up to the gas station with him and he would always let me pick some candy out.
Yep, you guessed it, Snickers was always my go-t0 snack. Did you have a favorite candy bar when you were growing up? I also enjoyed eating Granny Smith apples.
My mom taught me to balance out sweet treats with healthy snacks at an early age. I remember going to a church picnic and there was a big bowl of some kind of salad.
I added a scoop to my plate and with one bite, I knew I held a miracle in my hands. Some genius person out there (most likely a church lady) mixed apples and Snicker’s bars together and made an ever-so-sweet salad! Yummo!

Quick Tip: This salad is best served chilled.
What happened to the original apple salad. Winesap apples walnuts merichino cherries then Mirical whip for dressing
There can be more than one type of apple salad
Are the apples peeled before adding to the salad?
do you use instant pudding, what is TruMoo milk
Chocolate milk
It’s just a brand of milk. Not chocolate although it comes in chocolate.
what is trumoo milk? Can I use regular milk?
TruMoo is just a brand name. They have all the standard fat % and they also make chocolate milk
The snickers salad with apples, do I mix the pudding according to package directions or mix it dry into the cool whip? Thanks
No . you just use one cup of milk. The package calls for two.
Precisely what I was looking for, thanks for putting
up.
(1) Mixing them with apples does not make the candy bars healthy. (2) Yuck! Just as easy to make Waldorf Salad: diced apples, raisins, walnuts and mayo or salad dressing. Delicious and much healthier than the candy bar version.
I think everyone knows that the candy bars are not healthy, so this would be for those who want candy bars. Sarcasm and criticism is not needed here.. so why say anything at all? If you don’t like dessert, by all means, DO NOT eat it, but don’t criticize those who do.
Thank you! Thank you! How often does one have to say it. Who’s putting s gun to your head to make you eat #anything? Ssh!

My sentiments exactly. Why even read the recipe if you dont like it.
TruMoo is just a brand name. They have all the standard % of fat and they also have chocolate milk
We know candy bars arent healthy, but no one is suggesting that you eat this everyday. Its new and different and quite good on a special occasion. Why must you make snarky remarks? Leave the sarcasm and drama at home.
Everybodys had Waldorf salad BORING…….Some people like variety of things…an I for one think appled an snickers sounds pretty yummy. In fact if I were at a church function an there was Waldorf salad and the other salad with apples an snickers mixed. I’m going for the apple and snickers without a doubt emm I can almost taste it I love the idea of the juicy sweet crunch of the apple covered in chocolaty carmely nutty flavor…Oh yeah ……so much more creating than the same old BORING WALDORF SALAD just sayin
Your comment is boring. “Just sayin”.
This salad is supposed to taste like a candy apple. No its not very healthy. I’d rather take my chances with the snickers than the container of hydrogenated oil aka “cool whip”
I have made this..I put chopped walnuts on top…Delish
You use instant pudding, correct.
Yes
Do you peel the granny smiths??
I made this dessert for a church event. It was good and just about every one liked it.
True moo is a brand of milk from Pennsylvania.
TruMoo is actually sold all around the USA. It’s a branch of the Deans Corporation and has a headquarters in Colorado. I was able to purchase TruMoo in Michigan when I lived there 🙂
My older daughter made this and it is delicious.
This has been a favorite at our family holiday dinners for about 15 yrs, everyone loves it!!
So, one 3-oz. package of instant pudding and just one cup of milk (instead of the 2 cups the pudding recipe calls for), correct?
