They say there are two types of people; those who love mornings, and those who, well, are like me. Mornings are rough enough so I decided to let this coffee cake give me a reason to look forward to rolling out of bed one morning. I prepped it the night before so it’d be easy to toss in the oven in the wee hours when I got up.
This was one of those baked goods where the smell wakes everyone up. I got my coffee going while it was baking, and whipped up a jug of orange juice for the kids. I felt like Suzy Homemaker when they came down and asked what that amazing smell was. I didn’t say a word, just pulled it out of the oven and watched their eyes light up. What a great way to start the day!
