Ingredients
2 onions, chopped
2 pounds lean ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups water
1 jar Newman’s Own pasta sauce (approx. 26 oz.)
2 (14.5 oz) cans Hunt’s diced tomatoes, undrained
2 McCormick bay leaves
black pepper to taste
2 cups Ronzoni macaroni noodles, uncooked
Instructions:
Cook ground beef, onion and garlic over medium high heat until no pink remains.
Add pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, water, and season to taste. Simmer covered for 15 minutes.
Add in the in the macaroni and continue to simmer, covered, stirring occasionally until pasta is tender.
Top with cheese and replace the lid. Let sit for a few minutes before serving.
Quick Tip: You can use mild or hot diced tomatoes for this dish depending on how much heat you want.
