Studded with strawberries, this soft and moist skillet cake comes together in the simplest way; using a skillet! Bring this one to your next get together and it won’t take the whole day to make. Fresh strawberries load up this buttermilk cake for a fruity flavor. A sprinkling of coarse sugar and nuts top this beauty, followed by a dusting of powdered sugar. The sweetness is just perfect where icing is not needed! Who wants to cover up this skillet cake beauty anyway?!
I have a friend who is allergic to strawberries, but this cake itself is so delicious I wanted to make it for her. So, instead of strawberries I simply used sliced peaches on top. It looked just as beautiful and she said it was one of the best cakes she had ever tasted!
