This old-fashioned oatmeal cake is so good it stood the test of time. Typically families have passed down their oatmeal cake recipes for generations, and this one will do the same!
A combination of oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon make a delicious texture and taste. The frosting is topped with sweetened coconut and chopped pecans for a little added crunch. Before frosting, poke holes in the cake so the gooey goodness seeps down within, for a moist bite.
This recipe makes an 8-inch square cake and is baked in 40 minutes. Make cake for any occasion and it will be the talk of the night! It’s definitely a conversation starter to tell your guests you’re going to serve them some oatmeal!

Quick Tip: Use a metal baking pan – a glass one doesn’t do well with the broiling.
