Its Name Might Be A Bit Sad, But These Funeral Potatoes Make Everyone Happy!

Names are truly just words, aren’t they? I have a few friends who didn’t like their names. They were teased a lot in school because their parents named them after their favorite actor or actress, or even their favorite food. I will not mention his name, but one of my friends was named after a canned tuna just because it was his father’s favorite. He never fails to take a selfie of himself at the grocery whenever he sees the canned tuna on the shelf.

The first time that I heard about funeral potatoes was when I was a kid. I ate everything that’s delicious for me, and I really didn’t care about what they’re called. This one surprised me.

I remember having to stop eating just because I thought because it was really related to funerals. And funerals meant ghosts, at least for me at that age. It was one of my aunts who told me that it’s hash brown casserole for me if I didn’t want to use the other name.

At least I still enjoyed eating it even when I was scared. My husband still laughs at the story whenever he hears it. It has always been clear to him what it was when he’s still a kid.
