Chicken And Dumplings, The True Food For The Soul!

I was a teenager when I first read a copy of the book Chicken Soup for the Soul. Back then, it didn’t make so much sense why that was the title of the book. But now, I clearly understand. Chicken soup is good for the body, which in turn, makes it good for the soul; or at least that’s everyone’s belief. But going back to the times when I was sick as a kid, I think this is true. My mom often fed us chicken soup whenever we’re not feeling well. And we just feel a whole lot better after.

Its not just the warmth of the soup. Chicken soup is comfort because it tastes like home, and it tastes like care and love from a parent. So it does comfort both the body and the soul.

This chicken and dumplings recipe from Stock Piling Moms reminds me of those days. This recipe gives comfort and warmth to whoever will be lucky enough to taste it. The best thing about this is that it’s cooked in a slow cooker, which makes it easier to prepare and serve!

During the cold nights, I always serve this to my family. And they always manage to get second helpings. We love toe at this with dinner rolls and a side dish of salad.
