Once You Taste This, You’ll Know Why It’s My Number 1 Favorite!
My favorite aunt used to invite us over for a massive family dinner every year. I’m saying “massive” because there really is no other way to describe it. All of my aunts, uncles and cousins were there and sometimes we kids would eat at the funniest places, because there simply wasn’t enough room at the two large tables.
We didn’t mind it, at all – we thought it was so much fun to take our dessert, sit at the top of the stairs and eat – I mean, we were never allowed to do that at home so it was special! Auntie always made her famous rice pudding for dessert, and she hid an almond in it every time. Whoever found the almond in his or her serving, got a little present from her.
This recipe brought back all those lovely memories. This is completely different than auntie’s rice pudding, but I wanted to give this a try and it turned out so yummy that I think we’re having this at our next get-together!
