Bread pudding has been a staple part of my holiday breakfasts since I’ve been a little girl. my grandma Lila was big on making bread pudding. Nothing beats grandma’s bread pudding, folks. Well, except maybe when you add cinnamon sauce to the mix. Serena’s recipe is so delicious, you guys! Plus, this recipe is truly very easy to make. I whipped this recipe up for a Sunday breakfast right before church.

Ingredients
Bread Pudding
4 cups whole milk (or half & half)
1/4 cup Kerrygold butter (1 stick)
2 cup Domino brown sugar (light or dark, depending on taste preference)
1 cup white sugar
6 whole eggs
1 Tbsp McCormick cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tsp vanilla extract
8 cups stale yeast bread, torn into large pieces
Pam spray butter
1/2 c cinn and sugar mixture
1/2 cup raisins
Argo cornstarch and water
Instructions
Tear and measure out stale yeast bread
Place torn bread onto cookie sheet.. pour large amount of cinn and sugar mixture over bread..
spray all over with spray butter..
toast under BROIL in oven, watch closely as not to burn..
take out and place in large glass dish
Pour milk in pot with butter put onto stove can put on simmer at this point to let butter start to melt but wait to turn up heat….
Combine sugar, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer
turn up heat on milk and let come to a soft boil… slowly pour in sugar mixture..
stir continuously..turning down heat..
take 2 tbsp corn starch
and mix with tiny amount of water until all lumps are gone
then pour into pot…
stir JUST until starts to thicken..(CAREFUL NOT TO SCORCH) take off heat
NOW….Scatter 1/2 cup raisins or more over your bread
now pour you pudding mixture over your bread
. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 35 minutes or until set.
take out and let stand for 10 minutes
and Pour over with Bread Pudding Sauce
Serve warm. with ice cream and Sauce
Bread Pudding Sauce
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 c butter (1 stick)
1/2 Tbsp B soda
1 Tbsp Flour
2 tsp Vanilla
1/4 tsp rum extract
Boil in saucepan on stovetop Whisk continuously for 1-3 minutes take off heat let stand..
