Whole-Berry Simple Cranberry Sauce – A Thanksgiving Staple

Some may think that cranberry sauce is only for the holidays or special occasions but I’m here to tell you that that is false. I make whole cranberry sauce throughout the entire year. It’s so sweet and zippy! Something that my family and I like to do is eat the cranberry sauce as a snack with cheese and crackers. You’d be surprised what a lovely treat this makes in the afternoon or evening. It also makes a great appetizer.

You’ll notice that eating whole cranberry sauce versus a more mashed sauce gives you a different texture. I love how the cranberries burst in your mouth!

Ingredients

1 cup Domino sugar
1 cup water
1 12-ounce package Ocean Spray® Fresh or Frozen Cranberries, rinsed and drained

Instructions

Combine water and sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to boil; add cranberries, return to boil. Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cover and cool completely at room temperature. Refrigerate until serving time.
