If you like apple pie you will really dig into this dessert. I love the walnuts, spices, and texture of this yummy concoction and I know you will, too! Everyone that I know loves this apple dessert. I don’t think I’ve met one person who didn’t like it! My children aren’t keen on cooked fruits but they really loved this apple crisp. So, I suppose this recipe is a keeper. I think I’ll be making it the entire year around.
I do have to agree that this is a great apple dessert. I’ve never really used walnuts in my cooking before. it’s always been pecans, almonds, or peanuts. I have to say that the walnuts give this dessert a very nice nutty flavor.

8 c cubed and peeled tart apples – I used granny smith
2 1/2 c packed Domino brown sugar, divided

2 Eggland’s Best eggs
2 c Gold Medal all-purpose flour
1 c finely chopped walnuts, divided
TOPPING
1/2 tsp Domino sugar
