These are my most requested cookie.
I usually make at least 500 of these at Christmas. Its a very simple recipe but packed with lots a flavor! My good friend Sally and I made these one year for Christmas and between the two of us we made well over 1000 of these little guys. We each saved some for our families and then packaged the rest up to give away to friends, family, and the needy. I can remember wrapping them in parchment paper and putting the yummy butternuts into decorative holiday boxes.
Who doesn’t like receiving a box of homemade goodies for Christmas? I know I sure like it. These butternuts are perfect for gift-giving. You have to be careful though as they are quite addicting if I do say so myself. I probably ate 10 of them during the holiday baking phase haha! I really need to be careful as to how many sweets I eat over the holidays or I am liable to go up 2 pant’s sizes. Yikes! However, it is the holidays and that means it’s a time to eat, drink, and be merry 🙂
