Every time I hear the word pumpkin, only three things come to mind:
My Mom’s pumpkin soup that’s so creamy I always dream about swimming in it; that pumpkin pie that my Aunt makes which tastes like heaven; and that fairytale that shaped my childhood prince dreams, Cinderella. Who would ever forget those glass shoes, or the sound of the clock as it strikes midnight or that ever glorious pumpkin carriage?
Every time I turn the classic stories into food stories, my niece hates me. I always start the right way, but whenever I have the chance, I’ll turn it into a good story. What can I do? Food is better than magic. I wonder if Cinderella would have gone inside the ball if it was this pumpkin chocolate chip muffin she was riding in.
If I were her, I would have just eaten the muffin. The magic will last only until midnight. I wouldn’t see that pumpkin and chocolate dessert after midnight. On the other hand, I can have another chance with the prince any other day. Because if it was meant to be, destiny will find a way. Food, however, needs to immediately find its way into my stomach.
