Monte Cristos are a sandwich that I never really had much in my life.
I couldn’t understand the sandwich meat and the sweet flavor combination, so I just never ordered them. When I was having a dinner party recently though, a friend of mine suggested a recipe that she had seen on the web. I was struggling for starter ideas, and I wanted something that was really going to wow the crowd. As soon as I took a peek at the ingredients and instructions, I got a little more interested in how these might go over.
I decided that I would give them a try and boy am I glad that I did. I’m actually surprised that they made it all the way to people starting showing up! After I tried one, I was completely hooked.
My husband really loved these too, and he was rather disappointed that we didn’t have more. I surprised him about a week later and made some just for the two of us. They were just as tasty and so were the leftovers.
