Whenever the smell of sweet batter cooking permeates the house, I am one happy girl. I am not a morning person; my freelance job allows me to have flexible hours. I usually start work late, end up working late, and end up waking up late. Whenever the boyfriend is home, he will od his best to wake me up in the mornings just before he goes to work so we can have breakfast together.
The best way he knows how to do just that without me growling at him is to make me my favorite crepes for breakfast. He is so good in making them. It’s a crepe recipe that’s passed on to him by his mother, who is a very good cook.
I usually have two crepes for breakfast and there are two ways that I eat them. For the first crepe, I usually put mixed fruits on top, place a dollop of whipped cream, sprinkle some nuts in there, and drizzle it with maple syrup.
For the second crepe, I spread a generous amount of Nutella on it; then put whipped cream, sprinkle nuts again, and drizzle it with chocolate syrup. I add a cherry on top just for sentimental purposes. Ah. They’re instant heaven on a breakfast plate! After the first bite, I instantly forget that I was woken up very early. The things a sinful crepe can make you do—astounding.
