If you’re going to splurge, why not go for it? That was my first thought when I saw the recipe for these country hushpuppies. I have loved these little suckers since I was little! My Grandpa used to take me to a popular seafood chain restaurant for lunch dates and he’d give me his hushpuppies. They were my favorite! I also had chicken instead of fish, but that’s another love story. I am all about whipping up my favorite childhood treats and I knew these would be more than indulgent, but I also knew they’d get eaten up real fast.
Happily, they were really easy to make. Even happier everyone was in love. The beer batter made them better than the versions I’d had prior. The satisfied my cravings with ease and I now know that I don’t need to go to a fast food place to get an order. I can make them at home and maybe, just maybe they are a bit healthier even though they definitely taste sinful. But guess what? You only live once so enjoy these yummy country hushpuppies. They’re easy to make and even easier to eat!
