When I was a little girl, I used to dread being served cream corn. As an adult, I figured this had to be because the cream corn always came from a can. Yuck! You see, the other day, my best friend Louise brought over a dish filled with Southern cream corn that she made herself. At first, I was hesitant to eat it, I’m not gonna lie. However, I put my big girl panties on and took a bite.
Wowser! This homemade cream corn tasted nothing like the junk I used to have to eat from a can when I was a kid. I immediately called up my mother and asked her why she always gave us canned cream corn and never homemade. Mom said, “I thought you kids loved it!” What on Earth, mom. Anyway, today, I’ll be sharing a lovely southern cream corn recipe with you! You are going to really enjoy this! Now, please, I beg of you, if you hate cream corn but have only tried the canned version, give this homemade Southern recipe a shot. It’s a world of difference, I promise.
