I remember watching the movie “Fried Green Tomatoes” with my mom as a young girl. I begged and begged her to make us fried green tomatoes so that I could try them. I think mom wanted to try them too so she went out to our garden and harvested a few tomatoes that were anything but ripe. I watched her slice them up and dredge them in a flour mixture before frying them up in hot grease. After they cooled a bit, mom and I both had our very first bites of the green, fried fruit. It was great!
Have you ever had fried green tomatoes before? If you are like me and live in the midwest, you probably haven’t. If you are a southerner, chances are you probably have a secret family recipe. Whichever the case might be, the following recipe is sure to please!
