Have a Carnival in Your Kitchen!

People are usually afraid to try funnel cakes at home because they think it’s going to be difficult. That’s not true at all – this is a very simple recipe and these will be ready in no time! This is the kind of feedback fans have posted on this recipe over at Tasty Kitchen:

Delicious funnel cakes! i’ll never have to buy them again!

 

Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • ¼ cups Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2-¼ cups Milk
  • Powdered Sugar, For Dusting
  • Canola Oil, For Frying

 

Instructions:

In a large, deep pan, heat the oil to 350 degrees.

Mix dry ingredients together, whisk in the eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Add a dash more milk if need to achieve the proper consistency (it should resemble thin pancake batter).

Pour 1/2 cup batter through a funnel (while making circular, swirling motions) into the hot oil. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes, flipping halfway through. Drain on a paper towel and coat with powdered sugar.
