Have a Carnival in Your Kitchen!

You don’t need a deep fryer to make this classic fair food delicacy. Funnel cakes are a popular sweet treat at fairs and carnivals alike, and for a good reason! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, sprinkled with a dusting of powdered sugar this makes a tasty and warm dessert.

 

All you need is a large, deep pan and hot oil to fry up these “cakes”. Simple ingredients that you already have on hand makes up this easy batter. The kids will love making the swirling patterns, just keep a close eye as the oil gets HOT!

 

This is something you can quickly whip up for surprise guests as well – it doesn’t take too much of your time. This recipe serves 8 and cooks in a quick 15 minutes.
