The Crockpot Version Of This Pizza Is Better Than Any Takeout

I made this crockpot pizza for one of my movie nights with the family. We were watching Despicable Me because the twins wanted to watch it again after hearing about the third installment. We enjoyed the pizza while watching Gru fall in love with all of his daughters and started caring for real about them. The truth is, this animated movie has a heart. Good movie, good food, and good companion- I can’t see any better combination than these three things.

Check out what our friends from Food have to say about the recipe:

“This is my own recipe and a family favorite. We take it camping and enjoy taking it to pot lucks as well. Hope you have all found a new family favorite of you own enjoy seeing your variations.”

The chewy quality of this crockpot pizza is out of this world. I heard no complaints from the family. I hope you will enjoy this with your own families like me.

Ingredients

  • Crust
  • 1 1cups biscuit mix or 1 12 cups Bisquick, clone
  • 123cup water (Enough to make drop dumplings or form a sticky ball)
  • Sauce and Toppings
  • 1(16 ounce) jar Prego pizza sauce or 2 cups homemade pizza sauce
  • 1 -2 cup Sargento mozzarella cheese, depending on how much cheese you like
  • pizza toppings, of your choice (precook and drain any raw meats)
  • 2 tablespoons Bertolli olive oil

Instructions

  1. Drizzle olive oil on the bottom of the crock then put about one quarter of your pizza sauce on the bottom of the crock.
  2. Mix up your crust and spread on top of the sauce to almost touch the sides then cover with the remaining sauce and coat it all over so it sort of swims in the sauce like a giant soft dumpling.
  3. Top with cheese and your chosen meat and veggies, cover and cook on high for about 2 hours. Enjoy!
