It Might Sound Like “Funny Coatie” To My Kids, But This Is Actually Cappuccino Panna Cotta!

I had a funny experience while making this cappuccino funny coatie… I mean, panna cotta. And it’s because of my adorable children. The joke was all on me! I learned about his cappuccino panna cotta from Jenny, my sister-in-law. I make panna cotta at times when I am feeling indulgent, but it’s mostly the regular panna cotta. I don’t experiment when I am not very much familiar with the dessert I am making.

Knowing that I love coffee, Jenny immediately told me about this recipe. She said she tried it at home and my brother loved it. I was immediately curious and tried it at home.

I didn’t know my sons were actually listening to me talking to their Aunt. After the phone call, Chiyo went towards me and sat on my lap. Calvin followed suit and they both stared at me, wide-eyed.

“What’s wrong sweethearts?” I asked in my calm voice. They can usually sense it when I’m worried. They exchanged glances (I thought only adults do that) and asked me at the same time, “Momma, what’s funny coatie?”

I wanted to laugh. I really do! But I didn’t want my kids to feel like I was laughing at them. I was laughing at what they said, but not at them.

So I simply kissed my kids on the forehead and told them, “You’ll find out soon, sweethearts.” Well, they enjoyed the funny coatie along with their father the next day.
