Y’all, Here’s A Classic Southern Dish You Can Take To Any Potluck!

The first time I tried chicken pot pie, I was at my father in law’s house for the very first time.  He had called my husband and I over because he wanted to meet me but from the comfort of his home.  You see, the very first time we met was at a Cheesecake Factory, but while it was a nice time, it just did not feel homey and we could not really get into good conversations.  It was loud and with the hustle and bustle of the restaurant, we just did not really connect.  So, after that time, my husband decided we should have our next meeting in the comfort of one of our homes.

That is when my father in law invited us over his house. While he is Hispanic like the rest of us, he loves to cook from all different cultures, including Southern food.  That evening, our first real one together, he made chicken pot pie casserole.  It was quite interesting since I had never tried it, upon first glance.  But after first taste? My gosh, I was hooked.  I immediately asked him for the recipe and tried it once I got home.  It was SO delicious!
