One Sampling Of This Southern Fried Cabbage And You’ll be Sold On This Recipe!

If you enjoy eating huluski, the cabbage and noodle German dish, you will love southern fried cabbage. It is uh-mazing! I seriously cannot get enough of this stuff.

I made some the other day and had my neighbor Sally sample some of it and she was thrilled. You see, Sally is originally from the south and she said I hit the nail right on the head with this one. Yay!

My husband really enjoyed southern fried cabbage, too. Now my kids, well my youngest and oldest didn’t like it so much but my middle son surprised us all and had a second bowl. Go figure!

I will def add the apples and the sausage to this cabbage!! That sounds heavenly and some nice batter bread or cornbread to go along with..PERFECT!!!!

We call this Indian fried cabbage (without the broth). My grandmother, mother and I have been making it for years and we are from northern BC Canada!!!!

My grand-mother use to make this recipe when I was young. She made it without the liquid, and she added cooked rice and soya sauce. She called it ‘Bacon and Cabbage Fried Rice’. I loved it.

It sounds a lot like what my mother used to make. She was from Scotland and I think it was quite popular there. I loved it. They called it “Bubble and Squeak. “
