Ham And Pineapple Lover’s 20-Minute Rice

For my husband and I’s 25th wedding anniversary, he surprised me with a trip to Hawaii. I had always wanted to go there, but when we had kids at home, it was pretty much out of the question. So, now that they were all grown and out on their own,  he figured it was now or never. I could barely contain my excitement as we boarded the airplane. It was even more difficult to stay still as we started to descend.

When we spent that week on the island, we were just like newlyweds again. It was by far, the best trip that we had ever been on together. Even better than our honeymoon really. We went sight seeing, scuba diving, relaxed by the pool, went dancing, and ate until our hearts contented.

They had all the traditional Hawaiian flavors that I was expecting, including this mind-blowing ham and pineapple rice that was served as a side dish for a lot of the meals. It was like this recipe from The Recipe Rebel.

I couldn’t believe when I found a copy of how to make it online. I make it at home all the time now. It takes me right back to that picture perfect trip!
