“Everything Is More Flavorful In Texas” Oven-Roasted Beef Brisket

Work week means my husband will come home often tired and not willing to eat dinner. He would insist on wanting to sleep after greeting me and my children, and I don’t blame him. He goes to work in the morning, looking all fresh and mighty; and then he comes home like a drained can of beans (he laughed at the comparison because he understood what I mean). For a hardworking father, I am really grateful we are blessed with him.

I don’t agree about him missing dinner. It doesn’t matter if he eats only a little, but he has to eat. A doctor friend of mine told me that you should never skip a meal no matter how tired you are- it messes up your metabolism, thus messing up a few body processes.

One of the few things that tempt him even at his most tired state is meat. When he enters the house and smells something savory and flavorful coming in the kitchen, he couldn’t resist but check it out. He always ends up eating just like what I want him to do.

This beef brisket recipe from Snixy Kitchen is one of those recipes. I cooked it just recently and served it to him with a smug look on my face. After eating, he told me with an amused smile on his face, “So very sneaky of you.”

Well, that’s what wives and mothers do, right?
