The Easter Bunny Will Be Hopping Your Way For This Green Bean Casserole

Every holiday, we get together as a family for a few hours and enjoy a nice homemade meal along with each other’s company. It doesn’t happen very often, so we always make sure to make it even if it’s only for a little while. When we first started doing it, my Grandma and Grandpa took over the making of the entire meal. As they got older though, and so did we, we decided that making it a potluck style day would be a lot easier on everyone.

We always have so much food and in a nice variety. I don’t always have a ton of time to make something up, because we usually have several different places to stop all in one day.

I found this recipe on Group Recipes for a green bean casserole with mushrooms, and I thought it sounded perfect. We always had green bean casserole, but it was the same kind time and time again, so it would be nice to have something different for a change. It didn’t look much harder than the classic recipe, so I let everyone know that I was going to bring the casserole this time.

It was a huge hit! Everyone really enjoyed it. Nobody walked away from the buffet-style line without a nice big helping on their plate. I think it was the bacon and cheese that grabbed everyone’s attention. Too bad we ran out. Next time I am going to have to make a double batch of this yummy dish.
