Your Eyes Will Glaze Over Upon Catching Sight Of This Pork Dish

Whenever my parents or my in-laws visit our family, they usually stay for days. I have no complaints-my husband and I both miss our parents sometimes. I think there will always be that kind of feeling. Here in the country, we are taught to be independent at such a young age. We are even encouraged to be independent and care for our own once we reach a particular age.  No matter how much you have matured and grown into someone independent, you will always miss your parents and your childhood.

Our sons are probably the happiest whenever either set of grandparents visit. They spoil those two with affection and attention. They will always play and watch television with their grandchildren even though they are not familiar with the shows the boys love.

I once came upon them watching Cartoon Network with the kids. The boys were telling them the story of their favorite cartoon and they were just nodding enthusiastically. Such noble grandparents.

What I love most when they come over is the kitchen takeover. My Mom or my mother-in-law will always volunteer to cook supper. And nothing’s better than their home cooked meals.

Last time’s kitchen takeover was by my mother-in-law. She prepared us this scrumptious dinner of glazed pork, sauteed vegetables, and peach cobbler. It was all so divine I didn’t want to stand up and leave the table.

The glazed pork was my favorite recipe that night. It has this thin coating of peach syrup and that just makes the meat taste better. I ate a lot that night, but no one even stopped me.

Quick Tip: If fresh peaches are not available, we suggest using frozen peach slices in their place.
