Well, Mr. Easter, You Have To “Meat” This Pie

Mr. Food has helped me a lot in the past. You can visit their site and see the array of home cooked meals you can try for your family. This Easter pie is just one of those recipes; and if you love this, you’re going to love the others in there as well. Anyway, this Easter pie recipe is a simple one to make, but you will appreciate this because of the flavors going on in this. Salami and ham- they’re perfect in a meat pie. Add those cheeses and spices- you have a winner dish on your hand.

Check out what our friends from Mr. Food have to say about this recipe:

“Perfect for brunch or dinner on Easter Sunday, our Easter Meat Pie packs big flavor in each bite that we know your gang will love!”

Well, my little gang of four loves this recipe. It’s safe to say that they approve for this to become one of our Easter holidays food. You should try this too for your family.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 (1-pound) container Belgioioso ricotta cheese
  • 3 Eggland’s eggs
  • 1/2 pound cooked Hormel ham, diced
  • 1/4 pound Genoa salami, diced
  • 3/4 cup shredded Sargento mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon McCormick garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon McCormick black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Sargento grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Unroll 1 pie crust and place in a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese and eggs; beat with an electric mixer. Stir in ham, salami, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, and pepper. Pour mixture into crust and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Place remaining pie crust on top and fold edges together to seal. Cut six 1-inch slits in top crust.
  3. Bake 1 hour, or until crust is golden brown. Cool 10 minutes, then slice and serve.

Quick Tip: Making this Easter Meat Pie the night before and baking the next day is not recommended- it would result in a very soggy crust.

Thanks again to Mr.Food for this amazing recipe.
