It Looks Like A Specialty Ham- But No! It’s Really Just Homemade!

Last Christmas, I made cookies and truffles for a few of my friends. My husband on the other hand requested holiday hams for his colleagues. We spent a few days making a few glazed hams with personalized glazes for his colleagues. We must have used all of our family ham glaze recipes for them, but it’s all worth it. People will always appreciate homemade cooking. My husband affirmed that his colleagues fell in love with the ham and their spouses were asking for the recipes. Well, you can have this one from Mr. Food- it’s truly amazing!

Let’s see what our friends from Mr. Food have to say about this recipe:

“Our Brown Sugar-Glazed Ham has a caramelized crispy glaze that goes perfectly with the saltiness of the ham. This easy ham recipe is gourmet-store, fancy-schmancy without the costly price tag!”

This brown sugar-glazed ham is definitely worth making. You will love the caramel glaze that goes so perfectly with the meat itself. And it’s not just for the holidays- you can make it any time for your family.

Ingredients

  • 1 (5- to 6-pound) fully-cooked Cook’s semi-boneless ham
  • 1/2 cup Domino light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup trader Joe’s honey
  • 2 tablespoons Land O Lakes butter
  • 1 teaspoon Argo cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Line a large roasting pan with aluminum foil. Using a sharp knife, score top of ham in a crisscross pattern. Place ham in pan.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine remaining ingredients and cook 3 to 5 minutes, or until melted and smooth. Brush 1/3 of glaze over ham.
  3. Bake 1-1/2 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted in thickest part of ham registers 140 degrees. Baste ham with remaining glaze every 30 minutes during cooking.
  4. Remove ham from oven and let rest 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or cold.
