It Will Feel Like You’re In A Coffee Shop When You Eat This Cake

Coffee shops make me happy. When I was still in university, I always stayed at the coffee shop right outside the school premises. It’s not the coffee shop where I worked because it would feel weird to stay there during my free time. This coffee shop wasn’t as popular as the one I worked for, but it has that homey feeling that made it so much better for me. While students frequented the coffee shop I worked for, this one seemed to have yuppies as its target market. So most of the time, there were very few of us in there.

It was owned by a very sweet grandmother and her granddaughter. Most of the pastries in there were really homemade. My favorite was their apple cobbler and their cinnamon buns.

Since I was a regular customer, the grandmother gives me free coffee all the time. So even if I was a struggling student, I made sure to buy cake once in a while. Sometimes it feels nice to reminisce about these things, doesn’t it?

This chocolate cappuccino cheesecake recipe from All Recipes reminds me of that coffee shop. The combined smell of coffee and pasties that permeated the air was reminiscent of this cheesecake recipe. The rich aroma has always gotten to me.
