This Chile Verde Soup Brings Out The Song In Your Heart

This chile verde soup made my husband blurt out a High School musical song. It happened during that time his niece visited us and stayed with us for a week. His niece is 13-years-old and is at that age where she’s fangiling over everything. I remember myself in her. When I was her age, I was obsessed with boybands and singers of the 80s and 90s. My husband wouldn’t admit it, but he was once obsessed with the same things. Anyway, one of his niece’s favorite movies was High School musical. So we were marathon-ing it one night for her sake. I was singing along with the songs I knew while my twins were doing some ridiculous dance beside me. My husband was simple quiet beside us, eating the chile verde soup I made for dinner because his niece loved spicy soup.

The next day, I woke up to someone singing “You Are The Music In Me.” I caught him heating up the soup while singing the lyrics to the song. Even I didn’t know the full lyrics to the song, but he knew! He was so embarrassed when he finally felt my presence. I wouldn’t tease him in front of the kids though. He was lucky they weren’t awake yet that time. I blame the soup! It was so good he forgot he wasn’t supposed to know about High School musical!
