Get Hip with This Old-Fashioned Hootenanny Cake!

Are you partial to vintage recipes? If so, you’re going to truly appreciate this cake.

Check out what my pals over at My Name Is Snickerdoodle had to say about this recipe:

I just discovered this recipe about two months ago and have made it 4 times since then. So easy and so delicious! I am sure most of you have a version of this recipe…so why didn’t you share it with me???! I found it here where they called it a Hootanany Cake so there you have it…name it whatever you want just as long as GOOD is in the title!

I am smitten with this recipe! The cake is awesome and it looks like a giant piece of bread in the pan LOL

Ingredients

6 Eggland’s Best eggs
1/2 tsp Morton salt
1 cup TruMoo milk
1 cup Gold Medal flour
( I also added a good pinch of Domino sugar)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400º. Place 6 TBSP of real butter in a 9×13 pan. Place in oven to let butter melt. In the meantime, mix remaining ingredients in a blender. Pour batter into hot melted butter and bake for 15-20 minutes. It will puff up so don’t be worried. Cool slightly, cut into squares and serve with maple syrup or berries. Top off with powdered sugar!
