Robust Italian Flavors and Elegant Enough for Company!

This delicious chicken recipe has received plenty of five star reviews over at All Recipes! Let’s have a look at what some of the lovely readers have said about it:

I tried this for Father’s Day and I used minced garlic instead of a clove of garlic it was perfect…

This was great. I added a teaspoon of powdered garlic to the cheese mix and rubbed the fresh garlic on to the chicken before brushing with egg and covering with breadcrumb mix. my whole family loved this. I will definitely be making this again.

Nice easy meal, paired with a side salad and bread and everyone was happy! This will be made again in our house, might try throwing in a little spinach in the middle but it sure doesn’t need any adjustments, good just the way it is.

Ingredients

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Combine 1 1/2 cup Italian cheese blend, garlic, basil, and oregano in a bowl. Combine Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs in a separate bowl.

Cut one side of each chicken breast through the middle horizontally to within one-half inch of the other side. Open and spread them out like an open book. Pound chicken lightly to flatten. Fill each chicken breast with Italian cheese blend mixture and close like a book over the filling. Coat the outside with egg; press bread crumb mixture over egg layer to coat each chicken breast. Arrange in a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Bake until chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, approximately 45 minutes. Pour spaghetti sauce over cooked chicken; top with 1/4 cup Italian cheese blend. Bake until sauce is bubbling and cheese is melted, about 5 more minutes.
