Keep The House Cool And Make Slow Cooker Mac & Cheese

When my son turned three years old, I figured it was time again for us to head out to our favorite spot, the campground. We had been holding off for a few years, just because I wasn’t prepared to try and wrangle a very busy boy in such an open environment. He was passed the point of crying at night too, which I figured would be pretty disruptive to the other campers and that’s just not fair. So three was the magic age, and we started planing our trip. Part of that includes making a menu.

I always plan out all the meals ahead of time and write down the ingredients list so that we don’t forget anything. I started thinking about what I could make for him, as he is one of the pickiest eaters in the entire world I’m fairly certain. I knew he would eat mac and cheese, but how was I going to make it?

That’s when the idea of using the slow cooker popped into my head. I found this recipe on Spend With Pennies and it’s just what I was looking for. That first trip back out was a huge success!

Quick Tip: Make sure your noodles aren’t cooked all the way or they will get mushy.
