Beat Boppin’ BLT Salad – It’s BETTER Than The Sandwich

This is one of my all-time favorite salads to make. It gives you everything that a BLT sandwich is and then some. I love making this for my family on a hot summer’s day or even during the brisk winter months. It’s one of those meals that never gets old. My husband and kids love this yummy BLT salad, equally. We like to add a generous amount of mayo to this salad. Yummo!

What is your favorite part of eating BLT sandwiches or salads?

Ingredients

1 (16 ounce) container Daisy sour cream
1 cup Kraft mayonnaise
1 packet Hidden Valley dry Ranch Dip Mix
2 to 3 hearts of romaine lettuce roughly chopped
1 pound cooked and crumbled bacon, divided
3 cups sliced grape or cherry tomatoes
Half of a red onion, sliced thin
3 cups croutons

Instructions

In a bowl whisk together first 3 ingredients until well blended. Layer in this order: lettuce, tomatoes, half of the onion and half of bacon in a 13- x 9-inch baking dish or large, pretty, clear glass bowl. Spread sour cream mixture evenly over salad. Sprinkle top with remaining bacon and onions. Cover carefully and chill salad at least 2 hours before serving. Serve with croutons.

Quick Tip: To lighten it up, use turkey bacon and a mayo substitute.
