Spiced Winter Squash Bread – A Fall/Winter Treat!

I am a major fan of pumpkin bread.

I love the stuff. However, one day I didn’t have any pumpkin. This really made me sad because i had my hearts et on making a few orange-colored loaves for my church’s potluck the following morning. That’s when I saw it. A gorgeous acorn squash sitting on the counter, staring me right in the eye. It was as if the squash was saying, “Use me! Use me!” So, I did the only logical thing and made that little acorn squash into a yummy loaf of bread. Thank you, Mr. Acorn Squash.

So, this recipe is relatively simple to make and very similar to other breads like banana and pumpkin. It even tastes a lot like pumpkin, just not as bold.

My husband and kids love smearing this squash bread in maple butter. You can make your own maple butter by mixing pure maple syrup with softened butter. Whip it up with a handheld mixer for a fluffy treat. Enjoy!
