Add Some Bacon To Your Green Bean Casserole And Watch Your Mother-In-Law’s Jaw Drop

My daughter was graduating from high school last spring.

I was so nervous and so excited all at the same time. I thought back to the many nights that I laid awake waiting for this day to come. I thought about it from the time she was an itty bitty baby. How was I going to be able to let my girl go out into the world. It didn’t seem possible then, but now that she had grown into an intelligent and responsible young woman, I knew she was going to be just fine.

I wanted to make a special dinner for her the day of her ceremony, so I asked if she had any requests. Her favorite dish had always been green bean casserole. At Thanksgiving dinners, we had to make sure we got to the pan before she did, or we weren’t getting any. She asked for that, so I wanted to make an extra fancy one.

I took a recipe that I had found on the web and whipped it up before we headed to the school. When we got home, it was ready along with all the other foods I had cooked up.

She was so thankful that I had gone through the work to please her. The bacon and mushroom green bean casserole dish was emptied out before we all pushed away from the table too!
