Weirdo Cake: It Brings Out The Dork In You

You won’t believe how easy this cake is to make. I actually got this recipe from a few Amish lady friends. They told me that the recipe is “very weird” but they assured me that the outcome was good and that the cake would taste amazing. I am so glad that I trusted these dear ladies because they were so right! This cake did come out tasting amazing and it was super easy to make. I can’t wait for you to try this recipe!

The Amish make the best desserts and foods, don’t they? I have a few Amish friends as well and their cooking is amazing.

Ingredients

1 box Duncan Hines cake mix, any flavor

3 large Eggland’s Best eggs beaten

1 can Comstock pie filling, any flavor

Instructions

In bowl, dump dry cake mix, eggs and pie filling. Stir together until well mixed. Bake in greased 9×13, 350 degrees for 35 minutes or test with toothpick for doneness.

NOTE: Pair flavors of cake mix and pie filling. Apple filling with maybe butter pecan cake mix. Cherry pie filling with a devil’s food cake mix, etc. I enjoy a pineapple cake mix with blueberry filling.

FOR AN EXTRA INCH TO THE HIPS: Chop room temp cream cheese into chunks. Poke the chunks randomly into the batter after pouring it in the baking pan. Make sure the cheese is in deep. Continue to bake. I do this with a strawberry cake mix and strawberry filling and also the blueberry filling.

Ice with any frosting that you want or make your own using powdered sugar and milk.
