I Have No Clue Why These Are Called “Funeral Sandwiches” Because There’s Nothing Sad About Them!

Okay, so it’s kind of morbid to talk about funerals in relation to a recipe, but that is how I first got to experience one of these amazing sandwiches I am about to tell you about. My great Aunt Betty had passed away at the prime age of 101 years old. She always said that she wanted to live to be 100, so we were glad for her that she lived out her life’s wish. There was sadness at the funeral visitation, but there was also a lot of joy. She lived her life, and we all knew that she was ready to go.

The food at this event was sensational. Aunt Betty had planned out her entire menu that she wanted all of her friends and family to enjoy while they were talking about the past memories of their favorite Aunt. She did a fabulous job.

There were all kinds of these tiny little sandwiches that were perfectly sized for an event of that type. I kept going back for more and more. We were there for several hours, so they kept me satisfied until it was time to say our final goodbyes.
