Shareable Easy Cheesy Pizza Bake

This is a great entertaining dish when you have company over. It’s not the most fancy of dishes, but if we have family or close friends, or even the kid’s friends coming over, I always like to make these. There isn’t anyone that has turned it down yet. The dish makes quite a few servings too so it goes pretty far. If you’re having more than five or six people, you should probably make two just to be safe! Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at Kitchen Meets Girl:

“This easy cheesy pizza bake came together in a flash, and we pretty much scraped the pan clean by the end of dinner.”

Make this at your house and you’ll see the same thing!

Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey sausage

2 – 3 garlic cloves, minced

1 (6-ounce) can Hunt’s tomato paste

6 ounces water (just use the can from the tomato paste)

1 tablespoons McCormick’s Italian seasoning

¾ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon dried basil

¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 small can sliced mushrooms

1 small can sliced olives (I reserved a few for sprinkling on top)

1½ cups Sargento mozzarella cheese

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375.
In a large skillet, brown the turkey sausage. Drain meat and add back into pan. Add the minced garlic and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.

Add the tomato paste, water and seasonings into the meat mixture, stirring to combine. If desired, stir in a can of sliced mushrooms and a can of sliced olives – or your other favorite pizza toppings.

Separate the crescent dough into 8 triangles. Place dough into an ungreased 9-inch pie plate in a spoke pattern, allowing the narrow tips to overlap the rim of the plate about 3 inches.

Press dough on the sides and the bottom of the plate to form a crust. Sprinkle 1 cup of the cheese in the bottom of the pie plate. Spread meat mixture over the top. Fold the dough over the filling and bring tips to meet in the center. Sprinkle with remaining ½ cup of cheese, and if desired, ¼ teaspoon dried basil and remaining olives.

Bake at 375 for 15 to 20 minutes, or until dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
