Are You Ready To Sample Some Of This South-Of-The-Border Strip Steak?

Let’s just start off by saying that I love steak. All shapes, sizes, marinades… doesn’t really matter, I love it. I remember when my husband and I first started dating. Every time we would go out to eat, just about, I would order steak. He would always ask me if it was good. I would always say yes. Then, when I was a little more comfortable, I finally asked him, “Is there such a thing as a bad steak?” I know there is, but the chances of getting one is slim. I don’t think I have been that unlucky to date.

After we had kids, going out to eat, especially for steak, wasn’t in the budget anymore. I was having a craving one day for steak, and they just happened to have some nice New York strips on sale at the corner fruit market. I didn’t even get clearance from the banker… I just bought them.

I knew I had to make them extra special, because we weren’t going to get them again for a while. I found this recipe on BigOven and knew it was the one I wanted to make. It had all of my and my husband’s favorite ingredients. Plus, it was something I could make and surprise him with… before he made me take the meat back.
