When my boyfriend and I started dating, we went out to eat, a lot. It was just one of the very few things that we could do in our small town. We would go to the movies, but with only one cinema and a film that played on repeat for two weeks at a time, we could only do that so often. Whenever we would go out to eat, I noticed that he always got garlic mashed potatoes as a side. I was someone who switched up what I got… his order stayed the same.
So, the first time that I invited him over to my apartment for dinner that I was cooking, I knew that garlic mashed potatoes were going to be the side dish. At least I would know that he would be able to eat something, even if he didn’t like the main course. I had to make them just like the restaurant though, and thankfully I had a recipe just like this one from All Recipes.
He absolutely loved the potatoes, along with the pork chops I made to go with it. Now, I can make dinner at home instead of going out all the time. It’s a lot cheaper, which is nice seeings as we are trying to save money to pay for our wedding! Those potatoes must have really won him over.
