Garden Fresh Tomato Soup So Good That You Will Want To Garden.

Tomato soup is comfort for me. Usually when I make tomato soup, I make a really yummy and cheesy grilled cheese sandwich as well. I love dipping grilled cheese into tomato soup! I mean who doesn’t? It’s the kind of meal that you want to eat when you’re not having the best day because this delicious soup will brighten your mood and make everything better!

Who needs canned soup when it is so easy to make your own garden fresh tomato soup!

Ingredients

  • 4cups fresh tomatoes, chopped
  • 1onion, diced
  • 1pinch ground cloves
  • 2cups Swanson chicken broth
  • 2tablespoons Land O Lakes butter
  • 2tablespoons Gold Medal flour
  • 1teaspoon salt
  • 2teaspoons Dominos sugar, to taste
  • 12cup fresh basil leaf
  • 18cup red wine

Instructions

  1.  In a stockpot combine tomatoes, onion, cloves, and chicken brother. Bring to boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat, add basil and wine and process in food processor.
  2.  In the empty stockpot, melt butter and in flour to make a roux. Cook roux slowly until medium brown. Gradually whisk in a bit of tomato mixture, then stir in the rest. Season with sugar and salt to taste.
