“Shake Your Leg,” Lamb Shank Stew!

This lamb shank stew was a real hit with my family and super easy to make. Actually, I was quite amazed by how easy it was to make. You would think something like lamb shank stew would be difficult to put together but it wasn’t! It’s no different than making beef or chicken stew. Seriously, guys and gals, you need to give this hearty and wholesome stew a shot! You won’t be sorry, I promise.

Honestly, this recipe doesn’t need any seasonings as it is one of the most flavorful stews I’ve ever eaten as is.

 

Ingredients

Lamb Shanks 4-to-6 pounds

Hunt’s Stewed Tomatoes 2 15 ounce cans

Green Giant Peas (frozen) 1 pound

Potatoes 3-or-4

NO SEASONINGS

Instructions

1) Brown Lamb Shanks

Use NO seasonings.

Any heavy duty pot or fryer w/ lid will do.

2) Cook (on lower heat) until

meat is almost ready to come

off of the bone (several hours).

No liquid required.

3) Trim Lamb from the bone & cube

Dogs get the bones (yum)!

4) Cube potatoes (no need to peel)

5) Combine Lamb, Potatoes, Peas,

Stewed Tomatoes. Cook, using medium

heat, for 45 minutes.

NOTE: Use NO seasonings

This recipe can be made in advance of your dinner party.

Even tastier on day 2!

Allow about 5 hours cooking time.

Preparation time is less than 30 minutes.
