Rumor Has It This Cabbage Soup Actually Helps You Lose Weight!

This soup is good enough to eat even when you aren’t trying to lose weight. It’s a nice light lunch option any day of the week. I like to take it to church luncheons for all the women that are also trying to watch their figures. After they eat it, I tell them about the power behind the cabbage soup. I can’t write down copies of the recipe fast enough! We have one good looking church group meeting these days…everyone loves it. Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at All Recipes:

Ingredients

5 carrots, chopped

3 onions, chopped

2 (16 ounce) cans Hunt’s whole peeled tomatoes, with liquid

1 large head cabbage, chopped

1 (1 ounce) envelope Lipton dry onion soup mix

1 (15 ounce) can Del Monte cut green beans, drained

2 quarts tomato juice

2 green bell peppers, diced

10 stalks celery, chopped

1 (14 ounce) can beef broth

 

Instructions

Place carrots, onions, tomatoes, cabbage, green beans, peppers, and celery in a large pot. Add onion soup mix, tomato juice, beef broth, and enough water to cover vegetables.

Simmer until vegetables are tender. May be stored in the refrigerator for several days.
