It’s Your One-Stop Cheesy Pork Rice Skillet Recipe

I love this casserole recipe because it’s pretty versatile. I don’t need to stick to the ingredients just to have an amazing dish that everyone will enjoy. This is pretty versatile- you can adjust the flavors based on your family’s taste. You can also substitute ingredients with that you have on hand. This is pretty convenient and pretty tasty- the best qualities you ever look for in a hearty meal. Just serve with salad or roasted vegetables and you have your complete meal with you.

This can be your go-to recipe whenever you want something easy and heavy at the same time. It’s so flavorful too- no one will even dare to complain. They will be too busy devouring what’s on their plate- and they will ask for more.

 

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Bertolli olive oil
  • 1 lb. Tyson boneless pork sirloin chops, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup uncooked Jasmine white rice
  • 1 tbsp McCormick Italian Seasoning
  • 1 cup Green Giant frozen peas and carrots
  • 2 cups College Inn chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup Daisy sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups Sargento shredded cheddar cheese

 

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute the pork with the garlic and onions, until the pork is browned and the onions are tender (about 5 to 7 minutes).
  2. Add the rice, Italian seasoning, frozen peas and carrots and chicken broth tot he skillet. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for about 18 minutes or until rice is tender, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in the sour cream and 1/2 cup of the cheese until combined. Top with the remaining cheese. Cover with the lid for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, until the cheese melts. Or optionally, you can place the skillet under your oven’s broiler for about 2 minutes until cheese is bubbly and melted. Enjoy!
