A Special Ingredient Makes This Chicken And Vegetables Recipe Extra Tasty

We all know how much cinnamon makes everything smell better. This savory dish is no exception- your kitchen will be filled with the amazing fragrance of cinnamon. That factor alone will make you fall in love with this dish. And then there’s the taste. One bite and you’ll ask yourself, “why haven’t I tried this before”? Believe me, it’s true, because that’s exactly what came out from my husband’s mouth. This chicken and vegetables recipe has now been included in our regular rotation of meals. I doubt if I will ever regret it.

Ingredients

  • 2 in large sweet potatoes cut large chunks
  • 1 in large onion cut wedges
  • 8 cloves whole garlic skin removed
  • 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Lebanese Spice Blend divided or McCormick cinnamon
  • pound One 4 or 5 Tyson roaster chicken
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee clarified butter or Land O Lakes regular butter
  • parsley optional garnish

 

Instructions

  1. Toss the sweet potato chunks, onion wedges and garlic cloves in the bottom of a slow cooker and sprinkle with half of the Lebanese spice blend (1 tablespoon).
  2. Place the chicken on top of the vegetables and pat dry with a paper towel. Rub the chicken all over with the clarified butter.
  3. Sprinkle the remaining Lebanese spice blend (or cinnamon) all over the chicken so that all pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Cook on Low for 8 Hours or High for 4 Hours.
  5. Serve with fresh parsley on top.

Quick Tip: You can substitute plain butter or olive oil for clarified butter.
